Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. Who we are

Blurt is an AI chatbot builder that helps businesses create and deploy chatbots trained on their website content. Our service is available at getblurt.app. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at support@getblurt.app.

2. What data we collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.

Bot data: We store the website URLs you provide, the scraped content from those URLs, and any custom instructions you configure for your bots.

Usage data: We track how many conversations your bots have had to enforce plan limits. We do not store the content of individual conversations.

Payment data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details — only your subscription status and plan level.

3. Why we collect it

We collect this data solely to provide the Blurt service:

  • Email — to authenticate your account and send important service updates
  • Bot and website data — to train your chatbots and serve responses
  • Usage data — to enforce fair plan limits and prevent abuse
  • Payment data — to manage your subscription

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance reasons (e.g. billing records, which are kept for 7 years under Swedish law).

5. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in the European Union. We use Supabase (hosted in Ireland, EU) for our database and authentication. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

6. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Blurt:

  • Supabase (database & auth) — EU hosted
  • Anthropic (AI responses) — your bot content is sent to Anthropic to generate responses
  • Resend (transactional email) — used to send account emails
  • Stripe (payments) — used to process subscriptions
  • Vercel (hosting) — our application is hosted on Vercel

7. Your rights under GDPR

As a user in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your account and data
  • Right to portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — object to how we process your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@getblurt.app. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use a single cookie consent preference stored in your browser's localStorage to remember whether you have accepted or declined cookies. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
